Cervix Support Tincture

This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) of two ingredients extracted together in equal parts: the unfermented leaf of the tea shrub and the golden rhizome of turmeric, both from India. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product that contains caffeine and is not for pregnancy - please read the safety information below before use.

  • Green tea, leaf - Camellia sinensis leaf (Theaceae) - naturally contains caffeine
  • Turmeric, rhizome - Curcuma longa rhizome (Zingiberaceae)
  • Extract type: Alcohol tincture. Other ingredients: organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, crystal clear purified water
  • Origin: Cultivated botanicals from India; responsibly sourced. Gluten free. Made in the USA.

What is in the blend

  • Green tea leaf - the young leaf of the tea shrub, picked and dried quickly without the oxidation that makes black tea; it keeps its grassy taste, its catechins and its natural caffeine.
  • Turmeric rhizome - the bright orange underground stem of a ginger relative from South Asia, the source of the golden color of curry; it is usually called the root, and the two words describe the same part.

Why a tincture

The two dried ingredients are macerated together in organic alcohol with a little vegetable glycerin and water - the classic herbal method. A tincture keeps for years at room temperature in a cool, dark place, has a grassy, earthy, slightly bitter taste, and a few drops disappear in a glass of water or juice. A serving of 20 to 30 drops is roughly 1 ml of liquid, so the amount of alcohol per serving is small.

How to use

Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water or juice and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving. Take it earlier in the day because of the caffeine. Do not use continuously for more than eight weeks without a practitioner. Store in a cool, dark place with the cap tight.

Tincture or drops?

If you avoid alcohol or prefer a milder taste, the same blend is available as Cervix Support Alcohol-Free Drops - the glycerite version. The ingredients and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs. The same two herbs also appear, with four others, in our Cervix Guard Tincture.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cervix Support Tincture?
Cervix Support is a two-herb liquid blend: green tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) and turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa), extracted together in equal parts in organic alcohol with a little vegetable glycerin and water. Green tea is the unfermented leaf of the tea shrub, grown here in India, and brings a small amount of natural caffeine; turmeric is the bright orange rhizome of a ginger relative from South Asia, the source of the golden color of curry. Each is also sold on its own. It is a liquid herbal tincture, not a capsule. It is a botanical product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Please read the safety note below - the blend is not for pregnancy, turmeric is unsuitable with gallstones and blood thinners, and green tea contains caffeine.
What is the difference between the tincture and the alcohol-free drops?
Both contain the same two herbs in the same proportions; only the extraction liquid differs. This tincture uses organic alcohol with vegetable glycerin and water - the classic method with the longest shelf life at room temperature and a grassy, earthy, slightly bitter taste. The alcohol-free version is a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water, milder and naturally sweet, for those who avoid alcohol. Choose whichever suits you; the safety notes apply to both.
How is Cervix Support different from Cervix Guard? Is the turmeric root or rhizome?
Cervix Support is the simpler of the two: green tea and turmeric only. Cervix Guard contains those two herbs plus astragalus, holy basil, thyme and ginger - six herbs in all. Please choose by composition. The turmeric is the rhizome, the knobbly underground stem that is usually called the root; the label may say root, and the two words describe the same part. Green tea leaf and turmeric are each available as single extracts.
