Milk Thistle is an herbaceous annual or biennial plant that can grow to be 10 feet tall. It has red or purple flowers. This plant has milky white fluid that comes from the plant’s leaves when they are crushed.
Native to the Mediterranean region.
Family: Asteraceae
Latin name: Silybum marianum
Rich in a flavonoid called silymarin (protects the liver from toxins), vitamin E, vitamin C.

Milk Thistle Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of milk thistle seeds (ground into a powder)
- 2 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon of organic honey (optional)
Fill a tea bag with the powdered milk thistle seeds.
Bring the water to a boil.
Pour the hot water over the tea bag in a cup and leave for 3-5 minutes.
Remove the tea bag, add the honey and enjoy!
