English Walnut (Juglans regia) is a large deciduous tree of the walnut family, Juglandaceae, native to the mountains of Central Asia and the Balkans and cultivated worldwide for its nuts. It reaches 25-35 m with a broad crown, silver-grey bark and pinnate leaves of 5-9 leaflets that release a spicy, resinous scent when crushed. The green husk and leaves stain fingers brown and have an astringent, bitter taste. We extract the dried leaf.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
