Fu Pen Zi (Rubus chingii), the Chinese raspberry or palm-leaf raspberry, is a deciduous shrub of the rose family, Rosaceae, native to eastern China and Japan. Its arching, prickly canes reach 2-3 m with deeply five-lobed, palmate leaves and single white flowers. The orange-red aggregate fruits are harvested while still green and unripe and dried to small hollow cones, which the Chinese name meaning "overturned bowl" describes. We extract the dried fruit.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
