Grapefruit Tincture & Alcohol-Free Extract

Grapefruit (Citrus x paradisi) is an evergreen tree of the citrus family, Rutaceae, that arose in 18th-century Barbados as a chance hybrid of sweet orange and pomelo. It grows 5-6 m with glossy, dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers. The large, round fruit hangs in grape-like clusters and has a thick, yellow, oil-rich peel and juicy segments that range from pale yellow to deep red, tasting bitter-sour with a sweet edge. We extract the dried peel and the dried seed separately.
