About Marrubium vulgare

Horehound (Marrubium vulgare), the white horehound, is a bushy, grey-woolly perennial of the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to Europe, North Africa and western Asia and naturalized across North America and Australia. It grows 30-60 cm tall with square stems, wrinkled, rounded, felted leaves and dense whorls of small white flowers at the upper leaf nodes. The herb has a musky scent and a strong, lasting bitterness that flavors old-fashioned candy. We extract the dried herb.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
