About Alchemilla vulgaris

Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) is a clump-forming perennial of the rose family, Rosaceae, native to the meadows and open woods of Europe and naturalized in parts of North America. Its rounded, pleated, softly hairy leaves with 7-11 scalloped lobes hold beads of dew and rain like a cloak, which inspired both the common name and the alchemists' interest recorded in the Latin. Loose sprays of tiny, petal-less yellow-green flowers rise to 45 cm in early summer. The herb has a mild, astringent taste. We extract the dried herb.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
