About Lavandula angustifolia

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), the English or true lavender, is a woody evergreen shrub of the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to the dry limestone hills of the western Mediterranean and grown in gardens and fields across the temperate world. It forms a rounded bush 30-60 cm tall with narrow, silver-grey leaves and slender spikes of small violet-blue flowers in early summer that bees love. The flowers have the sweet, clean, slightly herbaceous scent of linalool and linalyl acetate that defines perfumery lavender. We extract the dried flower.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
