About Lindera aggregata

Lindera (Lindera aggregata), known in China as wu yao, is an evergreen shrub or small tree of the laurel family, Lauraceae, native to southern China, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines. It grows 3-5 m with slender branches, glossy, oval leaves that are silvery-hairy beneath and taper to a point, and clusters of tiny yellow-green flowers followed by black berries. The spindle-shaped, beaded root is yellowish-brown, hard and aromatic with a pungent, slightly bitter taste. We extract the dried root.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
