About Mangifera indica

Mango (Mangifera indica) is a large evergreen tree of the cashew family, Anacardiaceae, native to the Indian subcontinent and Myanmar and grown throughout the tropics for its fruit. It can reach 30-40 m with a dense, domed crown and leathery, lance-shaped leaves that emerge coppery-red and turn dark green. Huge panicles of tiny pinkish flowers are followed by the familiar fruit. The leaves have a resinous, slightly turpentine-like smell when crushed and are hung as garlands at Indian festivals. We extract the dried leaf.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
