About Viscum album

Mistletoe (Viscum album), the European mistletoe, is an evergreen, semi-parasitic shrub of the sandalwood family, Santalaceae, native to Europe and western Asia, where it grows in rounded, hanging clumps up to 1 m across on the branches of apple, poplar, lime and hawthorn. Its forked yellow-green stems carry pairs of leathery, oblong leaves and tiny yellowish flowers followed by sticky, translucent white berries in winter, spread by thrushes. The plant draws water and minerals from its host and is the mistletoe of Christmas custom. We extract the dried herb.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
