Orange (Citrus x sinensis), the sweet orange, is an evergreen tree of the citrus family, Rutaceae, a hybrid of mandarin and pomelo that arose in southern China and is now the most widely grown fruit tree in the world, led by Brazil, Florida and Spain. It grows 6-10 m with glossy oval leaves and intensely fragrant white blossoms. The round fruit has a bright orange, oil-rich peel over sweet, juicy segments, and the dried peel keeps a sweet, warm citrus scent. We extract the dried peel.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
