About Parietaria officinalis

Pellitory Of The Wall (Parietaria officinalis) is a soft-stemmed perennial of the nettle family, Urticaceae, native to central and southern Europe and western Asia, where it roots into old walls, rocky banks and shaded ruins. It grows 30 to 100 cm tall with reddish, slightly hairy stems and alternate, oval to lanceolate leaves that lack stinging hairs but are covered in fine down. Tiny greenish flowers sit in clusters in the leaf axils and release abundant wind-borne pollen in summer. We extract the dried herb.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
