Pink Rose (Rosa x damascena) is the damask rose, a deciduous shrub of the rose family, Rosaceae, an ancient hybrid of garden origin cultivated in Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and India. It grows to about 2 meters with arching, prickly stems and pinnate leaves of five to seven grey-green leaflets. The semi-double pink flowers, borne in loose clusters in early summer, are intensely fragrant and are picked at dawn for rose oil and rose water. We extract the dried buds and petals.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
