Sea Cucumber here is the orange-footed sea cucumber (Cucumaria frondosa), a marine animal of the family Cucumariidae, not a plant, found on rocky bottoms of the cold North Atlantic from New England and the Canadian Maritimes to Scandinavia. It has a leathery, barrel-shaped body 15 to 25 cm long, dark brown to orange, with five rows of tube feet along the body and a crown of ten bushy, branching tentacles around the mouth that filter plankton from the water. It is harvested commercially off Maine and Newfoundland and dried whole. We extract the dried whole animal.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
