About Semiaquilegia adoxoides

Semiaquilegia (Semiaquilegia adoxoides) is a delicate perennial of the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae, native to China, Japan and Korea, where it grows in moist grassy places, along field margins and on shaded banks. It rises 10 to 30 cm from a small dark tuber, with slender stems, deeply divided, three-lobed leaves resembling those of its relative columbine, and small nodding white flowers tinged purple on the outside in early spring. The tubers, round to oval and about 1 to 2 cm long, are known in China as tian kui zi. We extract the dried tuber.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
