Small Flower Willow, more fully small-flowered willowherb (Epilobium parviflorum), is a perennial of the evening primrose family, Onagraceae, native to Europe, North Africa and western Asia and naturalized in parts of North America, where it grows in ditches, marshes and damp waste ground. Its softly hairy stems rise 30 to 80 cm with narrow lanceolate, finely toothed leaves and small pale pink four-petaled flowers, each notched petal only about 4 to 6 mm long. The slender capsules split to release tiny seeds tipped with white silky hairs. We extract the dried herb.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
