Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) is the wild or woodland strawberry, a low perennial of the rose family, Rosaceae, native to woodland edges and grassy banks across Europe, northern Asia and North America. It spreads by runners into loose mats 10 to 20 cm tall, with trifoliate leaves of oval, sharply toothed leaflets that are bright green above and paler beneath. White five-petaled flowers with yellow centers appear in spring, followed by small, intensely fragrant red fruit dotted with seeds on the surface. We extract the dried leaf.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
