About Artemisia dracunculus

Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus) is an aromatic perennial of the daisy family, Asteraceae, native to a vast range across temperate Europe, Asia and western North America and grown as a culinary herb, especially the French cultivar. It forms a loose clump 60 to 120 cm tall with slender, branching stems and narrow, smooth, lanceolate leaves 2 to 8 cm long that taste sweetly of anise. Tiny greenish-yellow flower heads in loose panicles appear in late summer but rarely set seed in French tarragon, which is propagated by division. We extract the dried leaf.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
