About Nasturtium officinale

Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) is a fast-growing aquatic perennial of the mustard family, Brassicaceae, native to Europe and western Asia and naturalized in clear, slow-moving streams across North America, including Hawaii, where it is also farmed in spring-fed beds. Its hollow, floating or creeping stems root freely at the nodes and carry pinnate leaves of three to eleven rounded, dark green leaflets, with small white four-petaled flowers in clusters at the tips through summer. The leaves have a sharp, peppery, mustard-like taste. We extract the dried herb.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
