About Populus alba

White Poplar (Populus alba) is a fast-growing deciduous tree of the willow family, Salicaceae, native to central and southern Europe, North Africa and western Asia and widely planted and naturalized in North America. It reaches 20 to 30 meters with a broad crown and smooth, greenish-white bark marked with dark diamond-shaped lenticels that becomes black and rough at the base. The leaves are lobed like a small maple leaf, dark green above and covered in dense white felt beneath, so that the whole tree flashes silver in the wind. Catkins open before the leaves. We extract the dried bark.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
