Rectum Lining Support Alcohol-Free Drops

This is an alcohol-free liquid extract (glycerite) of three herbs extracted together in equal parts and taken by mouth: the inner bark of a North American elm, the velvety leaf of the marshmallow plant and the kitchen garlic bulb. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product - please read the safety information below before use.

  • Slippery elm, inner bark - Ulmus rubra bark (Ulmaceae)
  • Marshmallow, leaf - Althaea officinalis leaf (Malvaceae)
  • Garlic, bulb - Allium sativum bulb (Amaryllidaceae)
  • Extract type: Alcohol-free glycerite - liquid drops, for oral use. Other ingredients: vegetable glycerin, purified water
  • Origin: Responsibly sourced botanicals (slippery elm and garlic from the USA). Gluten free. Made in the USA.

What is in the blend

  • Slippery elm bark - the pale inner bark of a tall elm of eastern North America, which turns slick and slippery when moistened; it is one of the most mucilage-rich barks in North American herbal tradition. Because mature wild trees have become scarce, responsible sourcing matters - ours comes from the USA.
  • Marshmallow leaf - the soft, velvety, gray-green leaf of a tall plant with pale pink flowers that grows on damp ground across Europe and western Asia; like the root, the leaf is rich in mucilage. The leaf is used here; the root is a separate extract.
  • Garlic bulb - the dried bulb of Allium sativum, the same species as culinary garlic, grown for thousands of years from Central Asia to the Mediterranean.

Why the alcohol-free drops

The three dried herbs are extracted together in vegetable glycerin and purified water, so there is no ethanol in the bottle - the version to choose if you avoid alcohol. Glycerin gives the drops a mild, naturally sweet taste with a note of garlic.

What is a glycerite?

A glycerite is a liquid herbal extract made with vegetable glycerin instead of alcohol. Glycerin is a clear, naturally sweet liquid from plant oils; it extracts and preserves the water-soluble parts of the herbs. Because glycerin is a weaker preservative than alcohol, keep the bottle refrigerated after opening. The glycerin and water percentages are printed on the label.

How to use

Take by mouth only. Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water, juice or tea and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving. Because slippery elm and marshmallow are rich in mucilage, take this blend at least two hours apart from any medication. Refrigerate after opening and use within the period printed on the label.

Drops or tincture?

If you prefer the classic alcohol-based extract with the longest shelf life at room temperature, the same three-herb blend is available as Rectum Lining Support Tincture - the alcohol-based version. The herbs and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rectum Lining Support Alcohol-Free Drops?
Rectum Lining Support is a three-herb liquid blend: slippery elm inner bark (Ulmus rubra), marshmallow leaf (Althaea officinalis) and garlic bulb (Allium sativum), extracted together in equal parts in vegetable glycerin and purified water, with no alcohol. Slippery elm is a tall North American elm whose inner bark turns slick when wet, marshmallow a tall pink-flowered plant of damp European ground, and garlic the familiar kitchen bulb; each is also sold on its own. It is an herbal glycerite taken by mouth, not a capsule and not a topical product. It is a botanical product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Please read the safety note below.
What is the difference between the alcohol-free drops and the tincture?
Both contain the same three herbs in the same proportions; only the extraction liquid differs. These drops are a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water - no alcohol, a mild, naturally sweet taste with a note of garlic, best kept refrigerated after opening. The tincture uses organic alcohol with vegetable glycerin and water, the classic method with the longest shelf life at room temperature. Choose whichever suits you; the safety notes apply to both.
Is this marshmallow leaf or marshmallow root? Why is garlic in the blend?
This blend is made with the marshmallow leaf, the soft, velvety foliage of Althaea officinalis; marshmallow root is a different plant part and is available separately. Slippery elm is used as the inner bark, the part that becomes slippery when moistened; because wild slippery elm trees have become scarce, responsible sourcing matters, and ours comes from the USA. Garlic is a traditional companion to the two mucilage-rich herbs in this blend and is the same species as culinary garlic. All three herbs are also available as single extracts.
