Club Moss (Lycopodium clavatum) Whole Herb - Topical Liquid Extract Tincture
This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) prepared from the dried whole herb of Club Moss - Lycopodium clavatum, a low, spore-bearing evergreen plant of the clubmoss family (Lycopodiaceae), also called Common Club Moss, Ground Pine, or Stag's Horn Moss. This product is for external (topical) use only.
- Botanical name: Lycopodium clavatum L. (Lycopodiaceae)
- Plant part: Dried whole herb
- Also known as: Club Moss, Common Club Moss, Ground Pine, Stag's Horn Moss, Shi Song
- Extract type: Alcohol tincture - for external use only
- Other ingredients: Organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, crystal clear purified water
- Origin: Responsibly sourced. Gluten free. Made in the USA.
Used externally to support general skin comfort and well-being. This is Common Club Moss (Lycopodium clavatum) - different from Chinese Club Moss (Huperzia serrata) and Fir Club Moss (Lycopodium selago), the huperzine-containing species, which we do not carry. Please read the safety information below before use.
External-use safety information - please read before use
Please read these cautions before using Club Moss topical extract.
- External use only: this product is for topical use and is not for internal use - do not swallow it. Club moss naturally contains alkaloids (such as lycopodine) that are considered unsafe to take by mouth, which is why we offer it strictly for external use.
- Not the huperzine species: this is Lycopodium clavatum, which does not contain huperzine A; do not confuse it with Chinese or Fir Club Moss (Huperzia serrata / Lycopodium selago).
- Skin: apply to intact skin only - do not use on open wounds or broken skin, and keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Do a patch test first, and stop if redness, itching, or rash develops. Because this is an alcohol tincture, it may sting on sensitive skin.
- Pregnancy / nursing: do not use during pregnancy; if breastfeeding, use only sporadically and after consulting your doctor. Do not use long-term.
- Contains alcohol. Do not use on infants or children. If you have a medical condition or take medication, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Keep out of reach of children.
