Dong Quai (Angelica Sinensis) is a fragrant perennial of the carrot or parsley family (Apiaceae). The part used here is the root. It is one of the most important and widely used herbs in traditional Chinese herbalism, where it is called Dang Gui; in English it is known as dong quai or Chinese angelica. It is a different plant from the European angelica (Angelica archangelica).
-
WHOLE-ROOT LIQUID EXTRACT: Made from the dried root of Angelica sinensis, carrying the plant's natural spectrum of constituents rather than an isolated or standardized single compound.
-
TRADITIONAL ALCOHOL EXTRACTION: A classic alcohol-based tincture, made with organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, and water, for a concentrated extract with a long shelf life.
-
CHINESE ANGELICA, NOT EUROPEAN: This is Angelica sinensis (dong quai / Dang Gui), distinct from the European angelica (Angelica archangelica) and from Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica).
-
THE HERB, NOT THE CONFECTION: A liquid herbal extract of the root - not candied angelica used to decorate cakes.
-
CLEARLY LABELED: Labeled by botanical name and plant part, so there is no confusion with the European angelica, the other species, or candied angelica.
Angelica sinensis - Dong Quai, Dang Gui
Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) is among the most storied roots in traditional Chinese herbalism, known there as Dang Gui. Our Dong Quai tincture captures the dried root in a concentrated, alcohol-based liquid extract.
About our Dong Quai Tincture:
We start with quality dong quai root and use a classic, conventional alcohol extraction with organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, and water. It is a whole-root extract - not an isolate - carrying the plant's natural profile. This is specifically Angelica sinensis, the Chinese angelica.
Suggested use: Shake well before use. Adults take 20-30 drops (approximately 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea, or juice, up to four times a day, or as directed by your practitioner. Drink the entire contents.*
Main Ingredients: Dong Quai / Chinese Angelica (Angelica Sinensis) Dried Root.
Other ingredients: organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin USP, crystal clear water.
Additional information about ingredients: Contains NO gluten or artificial color.
Suggested Use: Do not use if seal is broken or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.
Safety information: Do not use during pregnancy, as dong quai can stimulate the uterus. It may have a blood-thinning effect, so use caution if you take an anticoagulant or blood thinner, and stop use before any surgery. Dong quai can increase sensitivity to sunlight, so limit sun and UV exposure while using it. If you have a hormone-sensitive condition, consult your practitioner before use. Keep out of reach of children. If you are nursing or taking any medications, consult your doctor before use. Discontinue use and consult your practitioner if any adverse reaction occurs.
