The best way to use liquid herbal tinctures is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Tinctures can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some tinctures are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.

What is Garcinia (Garcinia cambogia) fruit extract?
Garcinia is a small, pumpkin-shaped tropical fruit that turns yellow or reddish when ripe, from a tree in the family Clusiaceae native to India and Southeast Asia. Its botanical name is Garcinia cambogia, and under modern classification the accepted name is Garcinia gummi-gutta. The fruit goes by several traditional names, including Malabar tamarind, brindleberry, and in South India kudam puli or "fish tamarind." For centuries the dried rind has been valued in South Indian and Sri Lankan cooking as a souring agent, lending a distinctive tart flavor to fish curries and other dishes. Our extract is made from the dried fruit and offered in two forms - a traditional alcohol-based tincture and an alcohol-free glycerite. Each batch is made from ethically sourced, wild-harvested raw material. This is a whole-fruit liquid extract that carries the plant's natural spectrum of constituents, not an isolated or standardized single-compound product, and we label it clearly by botanical name and plant part.
What is the difference between the tincture and alcohol-free versions?
Both are liquid extracts of the same Garcinia cambogia dried fruit; only the solvent differs. The tincture uses alcohol as the traditional solvent, with vegetable glycerin and water. The alcohol-free version is a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water, giving it a naturally mild taste that suits those who avoid alcohol. Both deliver the fruit's constituents in a convenient liquid you take by the drop. Choose the tincture for a classic alcohol-extracted format with a longer shelf life; choose the glycerite if you prefer no alcohol.
Is this the same as an HCA weight-loss supplement?
It is a different type of product. Garcinia fruit naturally contains a compound called hydroxycitric acid, or HCA, and many products on the market are standardized HCA extracts. Our product is different: it is a whole-fruit liquid extract of Garcinia cambogia that preserves the fruit's own natural spectrum of constituents, rather than being concentrated to a fixed, high percentage of isolated HCA. If you are specifically looking for a standardized HCA product, that is a different category of supplement. We present garcinia the way it has traditionally been used - as the Malabar tamarind, a culinary souring fruit - and by its botanical identity (Garcinia cambogia, also called Garcinia gummi-gutta), not as an isolated compound. We label our product clearly by botanical name, plant part (fruit) and format (liquid extract) so there is no confusion with isolated HCA products.
