Arnica (Arnica Montana) is а perennial herbaceous plant. The rhizome is creeping, horizontally branched, brown or reddish brown on the outside. The stem is up straight, often branched at the top, pubescent with short simple and glandular hairs. The leaves above are darker, below are light green. Flowers are collected in up straight or slightly drooping flower baskets. Fruits are cylindrical, narrowed to the base and pointed at both ends achenes. The color of the achenes is from yellowish-green to dark gray or blackish. Arnica blooms in June - August. The fruits ripen in July - September.*
