- Staining: juglone is a natural brown dye and can stain skin, hair, nails, and fabric.
- Tree-nut allergy: do not use it, even on the skin, if you are allergic to walnuts or tree nuts - reactions can be serious.
- Skin: apply to intact skin only - do not use on open wounds or broken skin, and keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Do a patch test first, and stop if redness, itching, or rash develops. Because this is an alcohol tincture, it may sting on sensitive skin.
- Pregnancy / nursing: if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use it without the advice of a qualified practitioner.
