About Terminalia arjuna

Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) is a large evergreen tree of the Combretaceae family, native to the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar, where it lines riverbanks and dry stream beds. It grows 20 to 30 meters with a buttressed trunk, drooping branches, and strikingly smooth, pinkish-grey to greenish bark that peels away in thin, irregular sheets, leaving a mottled trunk. The leathery oblong leaves are arranged in near-opposite pairs, the small greenish-white flowers come in spikes, and the woody fruit is a five- to seven-winged nut about 3 to 5 centimeters long. Its leaves also feed the tasar silkworm. We extract the dried bark.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
