Tonsils Support Tincture
This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) of three herbs extracted together: the pale bark of an Indian riverside tree, the red autumn berry of the hawthorn, and the starchy root of the kudzu vine. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product - hawthorn and arjuna interact with heart and blood-pressure medicines - please read the safety information below before use.
- Arjuna, bark - Terminalia arjuna bark (Combretaceae)
- Hawthorn, berry - Crataegus laevigata berry (Rosaceae) - the berry, not the leaf and flower
- Kudzu, root - Pueraria lobata root (Fabaceae)
- Extract type: Alcohol tincture. Other ingredients: organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, crystal clear purified water
- Origin: Responsibly sourced botanicals. Gluten free. Made in the USA.
What is in the blend
- Arjuna bark - the smooth, whitish bark of a tall tree that lines riverbanks across the Indian subcontinent, peeling naturally in thin flakes; the bark, not the root, is the part used in Ayurveda and here.
- Hawthorn berry - the small red fruit of the thorny European hedgerow tree, gathered in autumn. The leaf and flower are a separate spring preparation, used in several of our other blends.
- Kudzu root - the large, starchy root of the fast-growing vine of China and Japan (known there as ge gen), also naturalized in the American South. This is Pueraria lobata, a different plant from Pueraria mirifica.
Why a tincture
The three dried herbs are macerated together in organic alcohol with a little vegetable glycerin and water - the classic herbal method. A tincture keeps for years at room temperature in a cool, dark place, has an astringent, faintly sweet taste, and a few drops disappear in a glass of water or juice. A serving of 20 to 30 drops is roughly 1 ml of liquid, so the amount of alcohol per serving is small.
How to use
Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water or juice and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving, and do not use continuously for more than a few months without a practitioner. Store in a cool, dark place with the cap tight.
Tincture or drops?
If you avoid alcohol or prefer a milder taste, the same three-herb blend is available as Tonsils Support Alcohol-Free Drops - the glycerite version. The herbs and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs.

I'm trying it now
great product.
If you can stand the sugar content, this stuff works
I was cautious to buy these because of the price but SO GLAD THAT I DID! I had been using the smaller bottles and had trouble with leaking and the lid sticking when I opened it, but these have no problems whatsoever. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I HAD an unbelievable itching problem but not now. If you ..
I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if this products works but this is a SELLER feedback anyway. The product was delivered promptly and arrived incredibly well-packed so the bottle would not break. That makes this a 5 star seller.
