About Cereus grandiflorus

Cereus (Cereus grandiflorus; the accepted name is Selenicereus grandiflorus), the night-blooming cereus or queen of the night, is a climbing, sprawling cactus of the cactus family, Cactaceae, native to the Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Central America, where it scrambles over rocks and trees. Its slender, ribbed, grey-green stems, 1 to 3 centimeters thick, cling by aerial roots and carry clusters of short, yellowish spines. The flowers are the marvel: funnel-shaped, 20 to 30 centimeters long, with white inner petals, buff to pink outer segments, and a strong vanilla scent, they open after dark and wilt before sunrise, each lasting a single night. We extract the dried inflorescence.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
