About Tinospora sinensis

Chinese Tinospora (Tinospora sinensis), known in China as Kuan Jin Teng, is a deciduous climbing vine of the moonseed family, Menispermaceae, native to southern China, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, where it twines over trees and walls. Its stems grow several meters long, with pale, corky, warty bark and long, thread-like aerial roots that hang down from the branches toward the ground. The leaves are broad, heart-shaped, and softly hairy, 7 to 14 centimeters across, and the small greenish-yellow flowers in slender racemes are followed by glossy red drupes. Cut stems show a pale, porous, wheel-like cross-section and taste bitter. We extract the dried twig.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
