Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is an annual of the legume family, Fabaceae, native to the eastern Mediterranean and western Asia and grown as a crop across India and North Africa. It stands 30-60 cm tall with clover-like three-part leaves and small white or pale yellow pea flowers, followed by slender, curved pods. The hard, yellow-brown seeds smell of maple syrup and taste bitter, and are a spice of Indian curry and pickle. We extract the dried fruit.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
