Flemingia (Flemingia prostrata, often listed as Flemingia philippinensis), known in China as qian jin ba, is a small shrub of the legume family, Fabaceae, native to southern China, Indochina and the Philippines. It grows to about 1 m with trifoliate leaves, hairy stems and dense clusters of small purple pea flowers. The woody root is long and very tough, which accounts for the Chinese name meaning "thousand-pound crowbar". We extract the dried root.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
