About Drynaria fortunei

Gu Sui Bu (Drynaria roosii, long listed as Drynaria fortunei) is an epiphytic fern of the polypody family, Polypodiaceae, native to southern China, Taiwan and Indochina, where it grows on tree trunks and mossy rocks. Its creeping rhizome is covered in dense golden-brown scales and carries two kinds of fronds: short, brown, oak-leaf-like nest fronds and tall, deeply pinnate green fronds. The flattened, scaly rhizome is cut into pieces and the hair-like scales are often singed off. We extract the dried root.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
