About Berchemia lineata

Lineate Supplejack (Berchemia lineata), known in China as tie bao jin or "iron-wrapped gold", is a scrambling, slender-stemmed shrub of the buckthorn family, Rhamnaceae, native to southern China, Taiwan, India and Vietnam. Its wiry, arching stems bear small, oval leaves with parallel, lined veins that give the species its name, and clusters of tiny white flowers followed by purple-black, cylindrical fruits. The tough, slender roots are yellow-brown and woody. We extract the dried root.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
