Liverwort (Radula marginata) is a true liverwort, a small non-flowering plant of the Radulaceae family, native to New Zealand, where it grows as flat mats on damp bark, logs and shaded rocks in native forest. Its creeping stems are only a few centimeters long with two rows of overlapping, rounded leaves, each with a small folded lobe beneath, giving a glossy green to yellow-green scale-like appearance. It has no roots, flowers or seeds and spreads by spores and gemmae. We extract the dried herb.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
