Noni (Morinda citrifolia), also called Indian mulberry or nonu, is a small evergreen tree of the coffee family, Rubiaceae, native to Southeast Asia and northern Australia and carried by Polynesian voyagers across the Pacific, where it now grows wild along the coasts of Hawaii. It reaches 3 to 9 meters, with glossy, deeply veined leaves and small white flowers that fuse into a lumpy, potato-sized fruit. The fruit turns from green to a translucent yellow-white as it ripens and gives off a sharp, cheese-like smell. We extract the dried fruit.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
