Peach (Prunus persica) is a small deciduous tree of the rose family, Rosaceae, native to northwestern China and cultivated for thousands of years across Asia, Europe and the Americas. It grows to about 8 meters, with narrow lanceolate leaves finely toothed along the edge and smelling faintly of almond when crushed. Pink five-petaled blossoms open before the leaves in early spring and are followed by the velvety, stone-centered fruit. The bark is smooth and reddish-brown on young branches. We extract the dried bark and leaf separately.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
