About Cucurbita pepo

Squash (Cucurbita pepo) is a trailing or bushy annual vine of the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae, domesticated in Mexico and the southern United States and grown worldwide; the species covers zucchini, acorn and spaghetti squash, pattypan and most pumpkins. It has large, rough, lobed leaves on prickly hollow stems, big yellow-orange funnel-shaped flowers of separate male and female kinds, and fruit of many shapes and colors with a central cavity of flat, oval, cream-colored seeds. The seed kernels are green and oily. We extract the dried seed.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
