About Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco

White Quebracho (Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco) is a tall evergreen tree of the dogbane family, Apocynaceae, native to the dry Gran Chaco forests of Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and southern Brazil. It grows 15 to 25 meters with a straight trunk, thick, deeply fissured, corky yellowish-grey bark and drooping branches of small, stiff, leathery, spine-tipped leaves. Fragrant yellowish flowers are followed by woody, flattened pods with winged seeds. The Spanish name quebracho, "axe-breaker", refers to the very hard wood of these trees. We extract the powdered bark.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
