About Magnolia liliiflora

Xin Yi (Magnolia liliiflora) is the lily magnolia or mulan, a deciduous shrub of the magnolia family, Magnoliaceae, native to southwestern China, where it has been cultivated for centuries and from which many garden hybrids descend. It forms a many-stemmed bush 3 to 4 meters tall with oval, dark green leaves and, before the leaves open in early spring, large goblet-shaped flowers that are purple-pink outside and white within. The flower buds, picked while still tightly closed and covered in silky grey-brown hairs, are the harvested part. We extract the dried flower.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
