Lion's Mane or  Hou Tou Gu (Hericium Erinaceus) also called Bearded Tooth Mushroom, Satyr's Beard, Bearded Hedgehog Mushroom, Pom Pom Mushroom, Yamabushitake or Bearded Tooth Fungus. It is a mushroom belonging to the tooth fungus group. Native to North America, Europe and Asia it can be identified by its long spines (greater than 1 cm length), its appearance on hardwoods and its tendency to grow a single clump of dangling spines.*

What is Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus)?
Lion's Mane is an edible mushroom - a fungus, not a plant - botanically named Hericium erinaceus. Instead of a cap and stem, it forms a rounded white body covered in long, cascading spines that look like a lion's mane or a shaggy head, which is why it also goes by names such as monkey head mushroom (Hou Tou Gu in Chinese, the term in our product URL), yamabushitake in Japanese, and bearded tooth mushroom. It grows on hardwood trees across the Northern Hemisphere and has long been enjoyed both as a culinary mushroom and in traditional herbalism. What is the difference between the tincture and the alcohol-free drops?

Is this made from the fruiting body or mycelium?
