Helichrysum (Helichrysum arenarium), also known as dwarf everlast or immortelle, is a perennial herb of the Asteraceae family, growing 30-40 cm high. Native to Europe and Asia, it favors dry, open, sunny ground - sandy or stony soils in pine forests, meadows, riverbanks and steppes rather than fertile land. A single stem branches into a bush of felt-like leaves, topped by panicles (up to 6 mm across) of small, tubular yellow flowers. It blooms from June to August, with seeds ripening in August. This is Helichrysum arenarium, a different species from Helichrysum italicum (the essential-oil "curry plant").

Chemical constituents: essential oil, flavonoids and flavonoid glycosides, phthalides, tannins, resins, steroid compounds, macromolecular alcohols, fatty acids, vitamins (ascorbic acid, vitamin K), and minerals - potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, plus trace manganese, copper, zinc, chromium, aluminum, sulfur and nickel.

Suggested Use: Do not use if seal is broken or missing. Store in a cool dry place.

Suggested use and dosage for adults: Shake well before use. 20-30 drops (1 ml., one full squeeze of dropper), up to 4 times a day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal tinctures is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Tinctures can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some tinctures are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.
