Sweet Rice (Oryza Glutinosa) is a variety of rice that is grown in East and Southeast Asia. It has short opaque grains that become very sticky when cooked. Sweet rice doesn’t contain amylose and gluten but is rich in amylopectin. The plant is a grass that can grow up to more than 1 m in height. The stem is erect and consists of several nodes with leaves growing from each node. The seeds grow on branches that arch over. Sticky rice contains a lot of protein, vitamin B, copper, selenium, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc, fiber.*
