What is the difference between the tincture and the alcohol-free drops?

Both are liquid extracts of the same Curcuma longa rhizome; only the solvent differs. The tincture uses alcohol as the traditional solvent, with vegetable glycerin and water. The alcohol-free version is a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water, giving it a naturally mild taste that suits those who avoid alcohol. Both deliver the rhizome's constituents in a convenient liquid you take by the drop. Choose the tincture for a classic alcohol-extracted format with a longer shelf life; choose the glycerite if you prefer no alcohol.

Is this the same as curcumin or standardized turmeric extract?

No - this is an important distinction. Curcumin supplements and "standardized" turmeric extracts (often labeled 95% curcuminoids) are concentrated to a fixed, high level of one isolated group of compounds, frequently combined with black pepper extract. Our product is different: it is a whole-rhizome liquid extract that preserves the turmeric root's own natural spectrum of constituents rather than being concentrated to a single fixed curcumin percentage. If you are specifically looking for a standardized 95% curcumin product, that is a different type of supplement. It is also different from culinary turmeric powder, which is the dried, ground spice used in cooking; our product is a liquid you take by the drop. And Curcuma longa is the true turmeric, distinct from related species such as Curcuma zedoaria. We label our product clearly by botanical name (Curcuma longa), plant part (rhizome) and format (liquid extract) so there is no confusion with curcumin isolates or turmeric powder.
