Carrot (Daucus Carota) is a biennial, rarely annual plant. The root is fleshy, thickened, of various colors and shapes. A stem 25-100 cm tall develops during the second year of life. The leaves are triangular, ovoid. The flowers are partly bisexual; petals are white or yellow, rarely pink or purple. The fruits of carrot are elliptical, consist of two semi-fruit with four ribs, equipped with long spikes.*

Suggested use and dosage: Shake well before use. 20-30 drops, three times a day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal glycerites is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Glycerites can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some glycerites are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.

What is Carrot (Daucus carota) root extract?
Carrot is a liquid extract of the dried root of Daucus carota, the familiar cultivated carrot (subspecies sativus), a root vegetable of the carrot and parsley family (Apiaceae). It is the same orange root vegetable eaten worldwide, prepared here as a concentrated liquid extract rather than a food. This alcohol-free version is a vegetable-glycerin glycerite. It is a whole-root liquid extract carrying the plant's natural spectrum of constituents, not an isolated or standardized single-compound product, and it is meant to be taken internally by the drop. The raw material originates in China and each batch is made in an FDA registered facility in the USA, gluten free.
What is the difference between the alcohol-free and tincture versions?
Both are liquid extracts of the same cultivated Daucus carota root; only the solvent differs. This alcohol-free version is a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and crystal clear water, giving it a naturally mild, slightly sweet taste that suits those who prefer to avoid alcohol, including people who dislike the sting of a tincture. The tincture uses organic alcohol at 48% by volume with vegetable glycerin and water, the classic conventional method that yields a super-concentrated extract with a long shelf life. Choose the glycerite if you prefer no alcohol; choose the tincture for a traditional alcohol-extracted format. The botanical inside is identical.
Is this the same as wild carrot or Queen Anne's Lace?
No, and the distinction matters. This product is the cultivated carrot - Daucus carota subspecies sativus - and it is made from the ROOT, the everyday orange vegetable. Wild carrot, also called Queen Anne's Lace, is the wild form of the same species (subspecies carota), and the herb of interest there is the SEED, not the root. We sell that separately as Wild Carrot seed extract. So although both share the botanical name Daucus carota, they are different subspecies, a different plant part, and used quite differently: this is the food carrot root, while wild carrot seed is a distinct traditional herb. We label each clearly by common name, subspecies context and plant part so there is no mix-up between the carrot root and the wild carrot seed.
How do I use Carrot root liquid extract?
Shake well before use. The suggested serving for adults is 20 to 30 drops (approximately 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper) in 2 oz of water, tea or juice, up to three times daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Because it is alcohol free, this glycerite can be taken directly or added to a cool drink. Drink the entire contents. Do not exceed the suggested serving. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
