Clear Vision Guard Alcohol-Free Drops
Clear Vision Guard Alcohol-Free Glycerite, Bilberry Berry, Eyebright Herb, Grape Seed, Schisandra Berry, Thyme LeafClear Vision Guard Alcohol-Free Drops
This is an alcohol-free liquid extract (glycerite) of five herbs extracted together, taken by mouth: two dark berries, a tiny meadow flower, the seed of the wine grape and a kitchen herb. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product - it is never to be put in the eyes - please read the safety information below before use.
- Bilberry, berry - Vaccinium myrtillus berry (Ericaceae)
- Eyebright, herb - Euphrasia officinalis herb (Orobanchaceae)
- Grape, seed - Vitis vinifera seed (Vitaceae)
- Schisandra, berry - Schisandra chinensis berry (Wu Wei Zi) (Schisandraceae)
- Thyme, leaf - Thymus vulgaris leaf (Lamiaceae)
- Extract type: Alcohol-free glycerite - liquid drops, for oral use. Other ingredients: vegetable glycerin, purified water
- Origin: Responsibly sourced botanicals. Gluten free. Made in the USA.
What is in the blend
- Bilberry berry - the small, dark-purple fruit of a low shrub of European heaths and northern forests, a close wild relative of the blueberry with a deeply staining juice. The berry is used here, not the leaf.
- Eyebright - a tiny annual of meadows and pastures with white flowers streaked purple and yellow, a semi-parasite on grass roots. The whole flowering herb is used, and it is taken by mouth.
- Grape seed - the small, bitter seeds of the wine grape, a by-product of pressing, rich in tannins.
- Schisandra berry (Wu Wei Zi, the five-flavor fruit) - the red berry of a woody vine of northern China and the Russian Far East, named for tasting sweet, sour, salty, bitter and pungent at once.
- Thyme leaf - the small aromatic leaf of the Mediterranean kitchen herb, a member of the mint family.
Why the alcohol-free drops
The five dried herbs are extracted together in vegetable glycerin and purified water, so there is no ethanol in the bottle - the version to choose if you avoid alcohol. Glycerin gives the drops a mild, naturally sweet taste that softens the tartness of the berries. The word drops refers to the dropper serving - these drops are swallowed, never put in the eyes.
What is a glycerite?
A glycerite is a liquid herbal extract made with vegetable glycerin instead of alcohol. Glycerin is a clear, naturally sweet liquid from plant oils; it extracts and preserves the water-soluble parts of the herbs. Because glycerin is a weaker preservative than alcohol, keep the bottle refrigerated after opening. The glycerin and water percentages are printed on the label.
How to use
Take by mouth only. Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water, juice or tea and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving. If you take any medication, take this blend at least two hours apart from it. Refrigerate after opening and use within the period printed on the label.
Drops or tincture?
If you prefer the classic alcohol-based extract with the longest shelf life at room temperature, the same five-herb blend is available as Clear Vision Guard Tincture - the alcohol-based version. The herbs and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs.
Important safety information - please read before use
This is an oral product, and one of its herbs interacts with many prescription medicines. Please read before use.
- Not for the eyes: take by mouth only. Never apply this extract to the eyes - it is not sterile and would irritate them. If you need eye drops, see an eye doctor or pharmacist.
- Medicines processed by the liver: schisandra can raise blood levels of many prescription drugs, including tacrolimus and cyclosporine (transplant medicines), statins, benzodiazepines and some blood-pressure medicines. Do not use with these without your doctor.
- Blood thinners: grape seed, bilberry and thyme may slow blood clotting. Consult your doctor if you take warfarin or similar, and stop use at least two weeks before surgery.
- Pregnancy / nursing: do not use - schisandra and thyme in supplement doses may stimulate the uterus.
- Blood sugar: bilberry may lower blood sugar - monitor if you take diabetes medication.
- Thyroid: thyme may affect thyroid medication - consult your doctor.
- Allergies: bilberry is a heath-family (Ericaceae) plant, thyme a mint-family (Lamiaceae) plant, and eyebright a broomrape-family (Orobanchaceae) plant - avoid if you are allergic to any of these.
- Side effects: eyebright taken by mouth has been linked to headache, confusion, sleeplessness or nausea in some people - stop use if these occur.
- See a doctor: this blend is not a replacement for an eye examination or any prescribed treatment.
- Age: not for children.
- If you have a medical condition or take medication, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Keep out of reach of children.

Excellent product!
great--thanks
Fo-Ti has worked for re-growing my hair and eyelashes. I really like the alcohol-free product. It works just as well as the version that contains alcohol, and tastes a lot better.
Fragile items well protected to arrive in perfect condition. Thanks!
I didn't get any different.
Item was as described and service prompt.
I have not taken it long enough to evaluate it fully. However, I really like that it does not have alcohol. The taste is acceptable.
Perfect deal.
Thank you for the item.
