This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) prepared from the dried bark of Jamaican Dogwood - Piscidia piscipula, a tree of the legume family (Fabaceae) native to the Caribbean and Florida, also called Fish Poison Tree and Fishfuddle. The dried bark is known in pharmacy as Cortex Piscidiae. This product is for external (topical) use only.

- External use only - never internal: this product is for topical use and must not be swallowed. Jamaican Dogwood contains rotenoids and can be strongly sedating; taken internally it has been linked to serious effects, which is why we offer it strictly for external use.
- Skin: apply to intact skin only - do not use on open wounds or broken skin, and avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do a patch test first, and stop if redness, itching, or rash develops. Because this is an alcohol tincture, it may sting on sensitive skin.
- Pregnancy / nursing: do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding - Jamaican Dogwood has strong effects on the uterus.
- May stain: this extract may stain clothing - allow it to dry.
