Condurango (Marsdenia Cundurango) Herb Liquid Tincture

Both are liquid extracts of the same Marsdenia cundurango herb; only the solvent differs. This tincture uses organic alcohol with vegetable glycerin and water, the classic conventional method that yields a concentrated extract with a long shelf life. The alcohol-free version is a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water instead, for those who prefer to avoid alcohol. Choose the tincture for a traditional alcohol-extracted format; choose the glycerite if you prefer no alcohol. The herb inside is identical, and the same safety notes apply to both.

This product is made from the aerial HERB of the vine. Note that the best-known, traditional form of condurango is the BARK (Cortex Condurango) - so if you are looking specifically for condurango bark, this aerial-herb extract is a different part of the same plant. Botanically it is Marsdenia cundurango (also written Marsdenia condurango, and historically Gonolobus cundurango), a vine of the Apocynaceae family from the western Andes. It is a different species from other Marsdenia such as Marsdenia tenacissima. We label ours clearly as Marsdenia cundurango herb so the plant and part are clear.

Shake well first. Use the number of drops and the frequency shown on the label, in a little water, tea or juice, or as directed by your practitioner. Do NOT exceed the suggested serving, because the plant contains bitter glycosides, and keep to short-term use. Because this is an alcohol tincture, adding it to water softens the taste. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light, and shake before each use.

Fresh latex: the fresh latex of the plant is considered poisonous - our product is made from dried plant material, but this is why the plant should be handled knowledgeably. Limited data: the aerial herb is less studied than the traditional bark, so use a cautious, short-term approach and stop use if you feel unwell. Coumarin: it can contain a small amount of coumarin, so use caution if you take anticoagulant ("blood thinner") medication. Pregnancy and nursing: do NOT use it during pregnancy, and consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use if you are breastfeeding. If you take any medication or have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Do not give it to infants or young children. Do not use it to self-treat stomach problems, cancer or any other condition - see a qualified doctor instead. This tincture contains alcohol and should be stored in a cool, dark place.
