About Foeniculum vulgare

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is an aromatic perennial of the carrot family, Apiaceae, native to the Mediterranean and naturalized along roadsides and coasts around the world. Hollow blue-green stems reach 2 m, with feathery, thread-like leaves and flat umbels of tiny yellow flowers. The ridged, greenish-brown seeds taste sweet and of anise, and the swollen stem base of the Florence form is a vegetable of Italian cooking. We extract the dried seed.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
